The Wool Packaging Company uses sustainable, biodegradable, recyclable or recycled materials for its products and wherever possible, sourced and manufactured in the UK.
Using sheep’s wool packaging has significant benefits for complying with government legislation and obligations, these include the Packaging (Essential Requirements) Regulations, Producer Responsibility Obligations (Packaging Waste) Regulations and businesses’ Duty of Care.
Our products have been developed to help companies and consumers reduce, re-use and recycle packaging as set out by the Government and following guidelines by WRAP (Waste & Resource Action Programme).
- Over 130 tonnes of non-biodegradable packaging waste was saved from landfill in 2010, based on figures supplied by customers switching to woolcool.
- woolcool flat packed products offer massive benefits in terms of logistics and storage, slashing delivery requirements for insulated packaging, from 4x40ft lorries for 6000 polystyrene produce boxes to just 1 x 40ft lorry for woolcool®.
- Approximately 300000 fleeces will be used to manufacture wool packaging company products in 2011, having positive implications for farming communities.
